I’ve always been fascinated about the intersection of discretionary trading and system trading. We know some systems do benefit from a discretionary touch such as trend following strategies that are unable to accurately model seasonality or regime changes. But with the advancements in tech allowing more and more facets of humanity to be modelled (ai making art and whatnot) do you think we are moving towards more or  less discretion alongside systematic trading?

AI models (more specifically RL models) would require so much data (which is necessarily discretized and turns into a crazy scalability issue) to get close to what is possible with a discretionary trader's experience I'd say it's far from being the case, we'll likely have both into the med-long term future
