Back

When I first got into trading, I just wanted a quick way to make a lot of money so I could have time and capital to do random stuff I actually care about, like investing, researching, building games, learning languages, learning some robotic stuffs and making some kind of AI anime waifus, and all those weird things I’m into.

And of course it did not work out for me because most of those claimed edges online do not exist. I thought maybe I should just pack it up and keep studying, but then I started getting into quant stuff and it made trading feel less like gambling (although I'm technically doing "technical analysis") and more like something I could actually study properly.

I guess I might have to give up on the idea of becoming financially free before 18 through some shortcut, but not the bigger goal itself.

That also made me rethink school and my current uni plan a bit. Right now I have CS as my major and Data Science as my minor, but I’m starting to wonder if I should use the minor/elective space to explore something more physical/technical like robotics or mechatronics instead.

So I might drop the Data Science minor and use electives to try units in that direction next semester if my degree allows it, while still learning markets/quant stuff on the side.

I still don’t really know what I’m doing long term, so for now I think I should just keep trying different technical stuff, learn deeper about them, slowly grind the things I keep coming back to until I actually get good at them type of feeling.

Also I think I’m just gonna treat posts like this as journals. Like if I actually become successful one day, just if, at least I’ll have something to look back on and see how confused I was at the start.
