Given the Greek theme of the site, I thought of Alexander the Great and a hot take I've always had that gives some insight on the nature of the human lizard brain.

A history lesson:
Sometime around 330 BC, Philip II inherited Macedonia on the brink of collapse, surrounded by enemies on every side. In 23 years he invented the most devastating military the ancient world had ever seen and methodologically leveraged a small kingdom to conquer all of Greece.

Alexander the Great inherited this loaded spring and let it loose on Persia.

Then he overextended it. He pushed his empire from Greece to India. A mission so vast and impossible to hold that his own generals mutinied. He died at 32 with no heir and no plan.

What Philip built in 23 years, Alexander couldn't hold for 13. Within 48 hours of his death, his empire was already tearing itself apart.

The point:
Alexander is called "the Great" for the same reason we idolize traders who hit one massive run, WSB guys, crypto moonshots. There is no glory in over extending hoping you get lucky, just to post a +9000% futures trade no one will remember in a week. I hope this platform becomes a place for people to build systems and share insights together. One day long into the future I hope we'll all meet up in Florence and share war stories.

(Attached is a cool picture I took of Monumento a Leopoldo II during a trip to Italy this March)
